How to Make a Gift
Gifts of Cash
Gifts of cash are the easiest and most popular way of giving and have an immediate and important impact on the endowment. Gifts of cash may be contributed as a one-time payment or through a multi-year pledge commitment as described below. Gifts of cash can be made via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) or by check (payable to Lake Forest Country Day School).
Rather than making an outright cash gift, you may wish to pledge your contribution over a number of years. The pledge period for the capital campaign is four years from 2018 – 2021. The Development Office will send pledge reminders based on the intervals you specify.
Many companies will match the contribution that employees make to IRS-recognized philanthropic and educational groups. You may double – perhaps triple – your gift through a matching gift program. Contact your employer and then enclose the company’s matching gift form along with your check.
Gifts of Stock or Securities
Gifts of appreciated stock may be a one-time gift or multiple gifts over a period of years. Benefits can include substantial capital gains tax savings, the benefit of a charitable gift deduction (to the extent allowed by law) and provision of an immediate gift to the campaign. Please contact Sarah Thomas in the Development Office at 847-234-2350, ext. 121 or via email at email@example.com for stock transfer information and to ensure that your gift is properly acknowledged.
Contributions can be charged to your Visa, MasterCard, Amex, or Discover Card by clicking on the link and filling out the online giving form.
